A new national tourism company has launched a new line of branded “beautiful” hotel rooms that it says will make visiting the country a truly immersive experience.
The Philippine Tourism Authority (PETA) says it has launched the Philippine Hotels and Resorts Hotels (PHRI) line, with a total of 2,600 hotels and resorts in the Philippines, offering everything from a private beachfront cabin for just $20 to a hotel suite for up to $300,000.
“We are thrilled to be bringing the Philippines into the global hospitality world, where our brands are a global leader,” said Philippine Tourism and Tourism Promotion Board Chair Jose A. Marquez.
“Our PHRI line is designed to appeal to all types of Filipinos.”
The PHRI Hotels line features luxurious luxury suites, villas, and other luxury accommodation, along with a private golf course.
The hotels are designed to have a “modern feel and modern decor,” the PHRI said.
The PHRIs luxury hotels will be available in Manila, Quezon City, and the Visayas and provinces of Lanao del Norte and Lanao Oriental.
The PHRI also said it is offering three other PHRI hotels that are expected to open later this year.
The company did not provide any pricing for these new PHRI hotel rooms.
The new PHRI hotels will cost about $3,000 a night and feature modern amenities including a pool, spa, fitness center, gym, and more, the company said.
Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has been trying to revive tourism in the country, with new “rejuvenation zones” to lure tourists.
In 2016, he announced that a total 10 million tourists would be allowed to visit the country for the first time.
The Philippine government has also launched a number of programs to promote tourism.
