Josh McDermott, the former star of the television series “The Walking Death,” has signed on to star in a comedy project, The Hunger Games Catching Fires.
The comedy project will be produced by The Hunger Girls, the studio behind the TV series.
The project will explore the idea of an epic battle between two superpowers and the people who fight to defeat them, and how that fight affects them.
“Catching Fire” is a sequel to the 2014 TV series, “The Hunger Dead,” which starred McDermit and is written by J.J. Abrams, who also co-wrote the TV show.
McDermits comedy will be the first project in a new project from The Hunger Brothers.
“The next step for The Hunger Gang is to work with The Hunger Sisters, who I know personally are really great about making these kind of shows and I really look forward to working with them,” McDermity said in a statement.
“They’re a team of very talented and funny people and I am really excited to be a part of them.
I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on this stuff.”
The Hunger Bros. have not yet announced a release date for the project.
“We’re thrilled to be able to add a new star to our team,” said The HungerGirls’ Adam Horowitz, who is also executive producing.
“Josh McDermitty is a unique talent and we’re thrilled he will be joining us in our new endeavor.
We are excited to bring the world of ‘Catching Fires’ to audiences around the world, and we are so excited to have him join our talented team of talented producers and writers to make this a reality.”
